The iOS 15 update is finally here. Released on 20 September, the new update will be available for all phones from the iPhone 6S and above. The beta version has been out for a few months with people testing out the new features. The iOS 15 update is a continuation of iOS 13 and iOS 14. The new update allows you to decide just exactly as you choose. An example is a change of the taskbar in Safari being moved to the bottom of the screen, making it more accessible, but this can easily be changed back in your settings.

The main difference in this update is that there are no major aesthetic changes, the main changes are made up of small changes that make a big difference. This is great because the changes on this update are not drastic enough to inconvenience you.

Focus Mode

This is one of the updates that people are looking forward to most. It’s an improvement on their ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode. We’ve seen how IT Support Companies have implemented this kind of technology to help their clients. This mode allows you to filter your notifications depending on what you need and you can filter your apps and widgets based on what you’re currently doing. Focus mode not only filters your phone but shows this status on your iMessage, similarly to away status on other sites. This will also help keep others from interrupting you while this mode is active. Third-party apps can choose to incorporate this feature if they choose, which means that this could apply to apps like Whatsapp and other chat apps.

In focus mode, you can select who you’d like to receive notifications from. You can customize the apps that you want on your focus mode screen and you can simply access your other apps via the app library. Any notifications from apps that are not in your focus mode menu will be hidden, so you won’t have to worry about distractions like Instagram and Twitter.

Portrait Mode for FaceTime

iOS 15 now lets you use portrait mode while using FaceTime. The classic artistic blurred background is now no longer just for photos. This can also be adapted to Zoom and Skype, but it looks best when used on iOS apps. Unlike Zoom that makes the background look jagged and lagging, the FaceTime portrait mode is seamless. The spatial audio feature has improved the audio experience. Spatial audio spreads out the sound which gives an effect similar to surround sound. This is great for calls with multiple people.

Notification Summary

The notification summary feature compiles all unimportant notifications into a summary which saves you from unnecessary notifications. You won’t have to be constantly interrupted by these notifications and you can choose when you’d like the notification summary to be sent to you. This is helpful, especially for those who use their phones for work and personal use. You’ll no longer have to be overwhelmed with useless notifications.

Live Text

Livet ext is a great feature that allows you to add text in real-time. This can be used on your camera or photos in real-time. It will automatically identify text and handwriting. You’ll be able to automatically translate between languages or call phone numbers that are detected in the image. When using it on photos, you simply need to click on the Live Text icon at the bottom of your screen. iOS 15.2 has been released even with more updates, including Application Privacy Report, Digital Heritage feature, etc. You can learn about the iOS 15.2 updates more.

Struggling with a slow MacBook might be one of the most disappointing things, especially after spending huge bucks on the gadget. It becomes important that you find out the reason for a slow MacBook.

Yet, it is just not about the reason, but also about addressing the problem. But, solving one problem might often lead you into a deep hole of solving numerous problems, thus taking up hours.

Often, the major consequence might be the loss of the data, once the problem is addressed. Thus, it becomes very important that you take proper care and keep your system software updated.

This article explores a few of the major reasons which could be responsible for the slow MacBook.

We would also explore 5 quick tricks that might speed up your MacBook! If these tricks do not work for you then you may sell MacBook and buy a new one.

Reasons for a slow MacBook:

1.Applications not in your notice

It might be important to keep a tab of the applications which might be running in the background. The background applications often cause your MacBook to lag and not run smooth enough, since they occupy temporary space in your device.

2. Need to change the hard drive

It is very important to check the space of your hard drive periodically. If your hard-drive is lacking space, it might lead to the slowing down of the entire system.

3. The software of the 90s

Having software that is pretty old means that it is not having the needed protection against viruses. Often updating the software helps in gaining an edge, moreover, we suggest to do away with any such software which is not used frequently.

4. Boot up speed:

The slow speed of starting of the MacBook is something to worry about. A slow booting of the MacBook might not be a great sign, thus your device might need to visit a doctor pretty soon!

5 tricks to keep ready:

Don’t just get stuck with the slow speed and the lagging MacBook. It is time you find out a solution for the same.

1. Look into the permission of the apps:

As an app is installed into the system, it seeks numerous permissions. With time, the permissions get updated, so they start to occupy a lot of space in the hard disk.

It is always suggested to keep a check on the permissions which the app on the system asks for. Keep updating them and removing them, if they occupy more space. You can also use Disk Utility to enhance the partitioning of the disk and free up space for you.

2. Get glued on to the Activity monitor:

As you are busy completing the annual meeting report at the earliest if your MacBook is enjoying a siesta, it’s time you check the Activity Monitor.
Have a look at the memory usage by the applications and combat them accordingly. You can even do away with the applications which are becoming the memory hog and replace it with something lighter.

3. Check for the start-up:

Is it that every time you log in to the system, there is a parade of applications starting? Well, this could be the major reason for the booting time taking even longer.

Check for the applications which launch at the start-up and using the Users & Groups option from preferences manages the applications.

4. Keep updating the software:

Always keep your OS updated. It is the best way to get the recent updates in the OS in your system and staying protected against any malware
Updating the software also ensures that your system runs smoothly. You can change the settings to either update it automatically or manually.

5. Say goodbye to old hardware:

If nothing of the above works out, it’s time to dig a big hole in your pocket as you might have to shell some bucks to get a new set of hardware. The easiest way might just be to replace the hard drive with an SSD

Are you a tween parent? If so, then you probably know the quality-finding problems of using secure applications for them.

We at GoKid think safety is paramount here. That’s why we built GoKid, a carpool app that’s safe and simple. Our free app is a sure way to find rides to and from school and other activities for your tweens. Families upgrading now can enjoy the first month’s free additional features with GoKid Pro!

With younger children using smartphones or mobile devices, it’s important that parents remain on top of their digital habits and find the right applications for kids that can help them safely navigate the world online.

Common Sense Media says, “Preteens need clear instructions to use the smartphone safely-these are strong little machines. They must also know what your expectations are for responsible, respectful behavior online.

When it comes to finding great apps for kids aged 8-12, you’ll need to look for apps they’ll actually use and enjoy; however, it’s also important to look for apps that will keep them safe (such as apps with parental control options) and educate them.

Vocabulary Spelling City

Your child may choose among different categories for his grade level, such as soundalikes or compound words. Then he picks out what he wants to do with the list: unscramble letters, take a spelling test, bring the words into alphabetical order, or use them in a game. “My fifth grader likes to play HangMouse, the Hangman edition of the game,” says Tiffany Everett of Port St. Lucie, Florida, somewhere. “He thinks pretending to be the mouse and eating all the cheese before the cat wakes up is fun.”

Thinking Blocks Multiplication

This app helps your child use blocks of numbers to solve problems with word multiplications, a strategy supported by common core standards. Says Finger: “We’ve just started using this app with third- and fourth-graders so they can visualize word problems better, and it helps.”

Number Rum

Think of it as a mathematical Temple Run. Your child can help a panda escape from a bully by solving problems of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division: perfect preparation for timed math tests.

Froggipedia

Apple has named Froggipedia the Best iPad app of 2018. Considering the millions of available apps, this award means that he is a winner. Froggipedia is an AR (Augmented Reality) app that enables users to explore and learn about a frog ‘s anatomy – without dissection.

Box Island

With the rise of the STEM movement, children have opportunities to learn new skills in fun ways. For example, Box Island is an app that teaches children coding uniquely in computer science gameplay. Plus, combining STEM learning with fun makes this one of the best free apps for children!

Stack the States

Your child reacts to questions about state flags, capitals, nicknames, abbreviations, and information related to geography. When she gets one right, a ring of stars appears and the animated version of the state will switch and drop anywhere onscreen. She will unlock new levels until she racks up enough states to hit the checkered line.

BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week

This app, an offshoot of the famous video subscription series, offers one three-minute video at no charge per week. Recent ones covered the expedition to the solar system and Lewis and Clark. “My son has been watching the movie over and over on Abraham Lincoln,” says Everett. “We took books out of the library so that he could learn more.”

Marble Math

Marble Math is another educational app that uses gaming to strengthen skills. The award-winning game blends geometry and mazes, as the name implies.

Duolingo

Duolingo is one of the best online software for children when it comes to language learning, for middle schoolers and up. Users will pick a language and then play games to develop their fluency and vocabulary. And it doesn’t stop there: parents can learn with their children because each member of the family gets their own profile.

A Dark Room

A Dark Room is completely different from all other game applications which rely heavily on graphics. A Dark Room is actually a purely text-based adventure game that encourages children to think outside of the box.

Gorogoa

Title of the year’s 2018 iPad Game went to Gorogoa and it is easy to see why. This is a puzzle game that is visually rich and will challenge children and adults alike.

The Infinite Arcade

Tinybop’s gaming app The Infinite Arcade is another fun way to improve the STEM skills. Users conceive and build their own arcade games in this app.

GarageBand

Looking for an app for your kid who loves music? GarageBand is among the best free apps for kids. This app lets children record, edit, and produce music tracks of high quality.

Terraria

If your children love Minecraft but are getting older from it, introduce them to Terraria. Terraria is a multiplayer game but instead of strangers, tweens will only compete locally (or with people they know).

Kudos

Kudos will love parents who are looking for a safe way to introduce their tweens to the social media. This is essentially a secure, photo-sharing app for tweens. Best of all, on this platform parents are informed about their kid’s activities.

Endless Alphabet

Chances are you will own some wooden puzzles where letters are slotted into a board if you have tiny humans. If you’re very fortunate, you’ll still have a few letters in fact, rather than a sad infant forlornly pointing at gaps.

Endless Alphabet should take away their minds from such losses, with dozens of words to sort by dragging letters about, and a bunch of funny animations when every word is completed. There’s the odd lurking of Americanism, but if you can hold back from hurling your device from a moving car when you see ‘odor’ lacking a ‘u,’ you’re going to be okay.

BBC iPlayer

We love BBC iPlayer but for kids, it’s a little bit tempting to ‘accidentally’ end up seeing something horrific that could scar them for life or, worse, get them interested in EastEnders. Hence BBC iPlayer Kids, which cunningly restricts the broadcast of nippers on CBeebies and CBBC shows.

There are no adverts like regular iPlayer, the GUI is elegant and simple, the search is fast and you can download shows for offline playback. That means, after watching 20 episodes of Danger Mouse back to back, we felt honored to thoroughly check the software for inclusion in these pages.

My hungry caterpillar

The world’s most loved and gluttonous larva stars in a range of books with holes in, some of which have been awkwardly shoehorned into apps. But this one’s different, coming across like a virtual pet.

It starts with an egg, which when hatched reveals the titular wriggler, who merrily scarfs down any food plonked in front of him. Then it’s playtime, which, depending on the season, might mean belly-sliding on an icy pond, frantically smacking a bouncy ball around, or popping bubbles. It’s all very charming, and once the caterpillar becomes a butterfly, we imagine your own little critter will want to start all over again.

Toca Life Farm

Farm is another in the excellent Toca Life series, and worth the few pounds it costs on every platform, as ever. There are numerous places to visit: the barn, the field, the farmhouse, and much more.

Children will communicate with anything they see in each, milk the cow, feed the lambs, and harvest crops. It possibly goes over their heads but one of the goals of Toca Boca is to expose children to the food lifecycle.

Our two testers loved to take seeds from the various sacks, plant, and water them, and then use the tractor to harvest them. The food machine can also be used to transform produce into food.

Miko and Cola

That starts as a storybook app following a pair of cats called Miko and Cola’s “silly fun adventures.” The real joy comes in their music mode, where your child can tap on characters and music-making items.

If you are in the house and need to make a group video call out of your Android as a matter of urgency? We have curated the list of top video call apps for android in 2020. Otherwise, you just bored calling your friends and buddies on camera. Well, you’ve always had Skype, but that’s certainly not the only option. Besides Skype, you can bring your friends, family, and friends together in several other ways. These other applications even allow you to share screens, documents, videos, record discussions, videos, etc. So here are some of the strongest collection of Android video calls.

12 Top Video Call Apps for Android

1.Skype

Begin with Skype because the application that supports group video calls is probably the oldest application in the world. Skype was available on Windows even before Android and iOS were present. Skype ‘s popularity is that it is available on PC, Mac, browsers, and PlayStation not only on mobile platforms. This makes connecting with people using their laptops easier. You can watch more with a bigger screen.

You can call a group up to 10 people, but Skype tells you that there’s a different number. It’s good for 3-5 people in my experience. You can call videos for a maximum of 100 hours per month with a 10-hour daily limit, as per their FUP (Fair Usage Policy). Your screen may also be shared.

The interface is not the simplest and most intuitive, and my Android works slowly. You can also share your display and files on the plus side. Skype also helps you to dial standard telephone numbers with a surcharge. If you do not have Android and iOS with participants in the called party, you can also chat on the Skype site.

2.Hangouts

Google ‘s response to Skype is Hangouts. A free chat message application that supports group video on various devices and platforms, including Android. Although WhatsApp operates on saved numbers, Hangouts is logging in to the Gmail ID. Up to 10 users can log into the WhatsApp and speak to you concurrently.

It plays well with other Google services like Drive, Calendar, Maps, and Gmail as a Google Product. With your existing Android or Gmail account, you can join Hangouts. Sharing papers, screens, and emoticons are sponsored. But Hangouts is different, it has a Hangout Air option, which allows you to hold webinars. And it’s free and ad-supported, similar to every Google product. For teachers and specialists, it’s really useful.

In addition, you can record and post video calls from your Hangouts Group on your YouTube channel directly. Similar to Skype, if you don’t have Android or iOS on your group call participants, you may also chat from the Hangout web.

3.Facebook Messenger

One of the world’s most common chat apps is Facebook Messenger. Many people don’t like the app, we realize. We believe that much research is still required. Yet so many people use Facebook that Facebook Messenger is important. The experience with video chat works very well. As most users on Facebook are familiar, it is easier than convincing to reach a new network and use this app. Moreover, the latest advertisements are not perfect. It is not ideal, but maybe the most useful feature in this series is the video call. It’s safe at least.

4.JusTalk

JusTalk is one of the lesser-known video chat applications. But it’s pretty good, honestly. You will style your template as you wish. In addition, when you make a video call, you can do stuff like doodle to bring some fun to the process. There is also community chat, security, and app support. It is a suitable alternative to something like Google Duo that mainly includes video calls. However, we don’t see that it is too competitive with a chat app with video chat functionality as well. You can download and use the app free of charge. The purchases in the application are for subjects and other personalization advantages. They don’t really affect features.

5.Houseparty

Houseparty is now the # 1 trending app that has millions of downloads in a few weeks. The app imitates multiple chatrooms in the house party environment. In a single chatroom, you can have up to 8 people but can enter a chat room with any friend (unless it is private). On top of that, Houseparty offers a lot of games, which you can enjoy during your community video chat. I enjoyed “Heads Up” for something like the Dum Charades, except on a phone call. There are also three other Trivia, drawing games and so on.

Houseparty is a fantastic way of spending time and has seen an increase in users recently. This impacts your servers’ bandwidth, and you can notice the link decreases in your video call sometimes. In nearly one year, the app was still not updated.

6.FreeConference

Quest for places such as Gruveo for more functionality? FreeConference provides strong, cost-effective video conferencing calls. This service offers more business-orientated features than the others, such as audio dial-in numbers.

FreeConference allows you to schedule meetings and automatically send reminders, but if you don’t need a prior note, you can also start meetings immediately. Calls for swapping device features and moderator buttons to silence loud callers quickly. With the mobile calling apps, you can keep track of your meetings.

7.Viber

Viber is another popular 2020 Android video call app, which has long been in the Play Store. Since then, the software has been upgraded and filled with several features. It is cross-platform and accessible for almost all operating systems and mobile devices including Blackberry, Windows Phone, Ios, and Apple.

Viber provides safe user communication and automates the encryption of text, video and voice calls, photos, and group chats. The GUI is simple to use and it is very simple to do a video chat, just click on the camera sign next to the names of the user and start chatting. Also, Viber games with friends can be played, public accounts followed, contact files shared, etc.

8.WhatsApp

Whatsapp is also qualifying for Best Android Video Calling Apps as one of the most common messaging app. It is a multi-platform device, and users use Android, iOS, and Windows devices to make millions of video calls every day. The call function is easy and users’ obstacles decrease, just open the connection you want and press the video call button.

Only one-on-one conversations contain voice and video call options, but the video call functions quite well and you should face no problems with it while you are using it. The app also includes text messages, media files, GIFs, authentication stickers, etc. The app is safe and free of charge. There are also no ads on it.

9.IMO free video call and chat

IMO is a basic video chat app for Android, and is useful for making free video and voice calls over 2 G, 3 G, 4 G, or Wi-Fi networks. It is cross-platform and compliant with both iOS and Android. Besides email, audio, and video calls, the app doesn’t come with a lot of apps. Nevertheless, it is a reliable device because it offers complete protection to the messages and the calls.

You can also make community calls, post pictures, send stickers, etc. Users also said that IMO uses less data when doing video chats compared to other applications. It is free to download, but you have to deal with certain ads inside the app.

10.Zoom

Zoom isn’t the first name we think about calling the video, but since the outbreak, the platform has really gone up. Over recent weeks, the U.S. online meeting service has seen its user base expand and has managed traffic very well so far.

Following the development of an online trolling form — ZoomBombing — Zoom ‘s security increased, promoting the use of passwords, and turning on the default feature known as the Waiting Room. In conclusion, it doesn’t only encourage you to host up to 100 people for free but is one of the best choices available with a 40-minute cap on group meetings.

11.OOVOO

OOVOO is a free application for groups of 12 participants to make group video calls. It is available for Amazon Fire, Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. Snd it has certain features like the opportunity, with the rest of members, to make a video call or view YouTube videos.

It retains its sales by advertising because it is a free download. While consumers can continue with the premium advertisement removal package. And add some additional features such as mobile, computer, and cloud storage synchronization.

12.GOOGLE DUO

Perhaps the most efficient and easy to use the app for group videos calls for mobile devices to be found. Google Duo gives us the chance, with a limit of 8 participants, to make video conferences. And thanks to its web version, it is available for Android, iOS, and PC.

Since there are so many advanced functions lacking in other apps such as Hangouts, it’s so direct and intuitive. However, the quickest and most effective way to achieve this is to try and establish a video connection with several people as simple as possible. Particularly recommended for those who “do not match technology.”
